After sorting through some of the Fall 2013 Couture shows, I threw my opinions into several relatively tacky Photoshop collages. Enjoy.
When I first daw the model second to the left, I wondered if Valentino ripped down a mural from the ceiling of a cathedral and pasted it onto a dress. It seemed fitting to place these models in a gothic-style church with their ornate outfits.
I hope a prep school in Alaska adopts these looks as a school uniform in the future.
I understand the aesthetic Chanel was envisioning, futuristic to the point of being the uniform worn in a "Brave New World" society, but these looks kept reminding me of mermaids. The fabric on the far right registered in my mind as scales and I wanted the models to be donning mermaid tails down the runway. If all were to my liking, these models would be floundering down the runway looking like high-fashion Magikarps. Drawing fish tails on these girls seemed like the right thing to do, and I am not one to fight with fate.
